Bramble Hill Glamping is located on our family run farm at Reighton Gap near Filey, North Yorkshire. We have 6 different accommodation options ranging from Gladys our converted bus to Esmerelda our 1920's showman wagon. All of our units where handcrafted or lovingly restored by our dad in his workshop on the farm. Reighton Beach is within walking distance and we're located on the new coastal path route and are within 11 miles of the traditional seaside towns of Filey, Scarborough and Bridlington.

About Us

Reighton Gap

Reighton Beach is within walking distance from us and can be accessed by heading straight down our track, crossing over the road and heading down the steps between the carpark and the houses at the end of the road or you can follow the coastal path along the cliff top to Hunmanby Gap beach where there is a lovely little beach café. Along the beach you can walk the 5 miles into Filey. Reighton Beach is dog friendly all year round.

There are several walking routes right on our doorstep with access to the new coastal path at the top of our field leading you to Bempton Cliffs and beyond.

Local Wildlife

With so much open countryside and moorland around us we're lucky enough to have a variety of wildlife often come to visit. Rabbits are regularly spotted hopping around the field on a spring morning and we've also had several sightings of Roe deer and foxes during quieter hours and around the local area. We get lots of bird species visit us and have a resident barn owl who nests in near by barns and in recent months a Tawny Owl has be heard. We have a woodpecker and squirrels who visit our bird feeders regularly. Bottle nose dolphins are regularly sighted off Filey Bay and at Scarborough Harbour and there are several local Facebook pages that share their location if you wanted to head out to look for them. If you stay with us and spot any wildlife we would love to hear about it.

"Help yourself" Bushes and Plants

Planted around the site is a selection of fruit trees, strawberry bushes and fresh herbs for our guests to pick themselves and enjoy throughout their stay. There are various lavender bushes planted around the site and when in flower can be picked and placed by a wood burning stove to fill your accommodation with the delicate smell. Bramble bushes grow in abundance both onsite and along the track and are fruit from July to August.

Our Green Credentials

Here at Bramble Hill we're passionate about the environment and we aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible. We've planted over 2000 trees since we started developing the site in 2019 and in 2022 we started planting wild flowers and bulbs, all done the old fashioned way with a shovel and some hard days graft.

Our bin collection company sort through all the waste and aim to recycle 100% of it and we use the ash from the fires to fertilise the trees and occasionally the chickens enjoy it as an ash bath.

By using refillable hand soap and washing up liquid we have cut our plastic waste and always provide biodegradable bin bags.

We are always looking for ways to improve our green credentials and ideas and suggestions are always welcome from guests to help us on this journey of being as green as possible.
